WE DID IT!!

13.1 miles later, Jake and I finished our 3rd half marathon yesterday. It was such a beautiful day to be out running. We were extremely blessed to have such good weather. We ran it just under 2:10. I was hoping to run it a little closer to 2:00 over all, but I guess that will have to wait for another race, another time.

The Haunted Half had a really fun environment though. Everyone was dressed up in awesome costumes and at the end they had you run through a haunted "cave". The race ended at a carnival with face painting, apple bobbing, donuts on a string and lots of fun haunted characters. It is by far my favorite race we have run. I am so thankful to Jake for constantly running with me, being my partner and coach. He encourages me to do things I wouldn't have ever done other wise. I am one lucky lady to call him mine!

Us at the start of the race. We were just about the last people to cross the starting line. Jake wore this super sweet green suit the entire way. He didn't even take off the mask and would take sips of water by pouring it through his masked face.
Finally at the FINNISH!
One of the haunted friends we made along the way!
Jake's twin found us at the end of the race as we were recovering. Can you tell who is who?
Out of his suit and ready to take on the world! It might be a small accomplishment, but I am still proud of our finish and the training we did to get to where we are. I believe we will be running partners for life and the eternity here after!
Have a great week!
We love you!

Running and the St. George Marathon

This weekend we watched General Conference down in St. George and had the chance to watch Jake's dad cross the finish line from the Marathon.

It was a family affair as we gathered around to watch and support the amazing runners who ran on Saturday.
Jake with our nephew Jett. Jett loved watching for Grandpa.

Jen, Jake's Sister and her new baby Max.

Even Mickey joined the fun!

It was a really great weekend which included Jake and I running 12 miles. We are training for the Haunted Half Marathon in a few weeks and we ran our last long run on the marathon course in Pine Valley. It will be the third half marathon we have run together and our fifth race over all.
We run a lot at night and as such, wear ridiculously looking reflective vests. It keeps us safe though.

This is me blowing Jake a kiss. When he is out of town, I have to go on training runs by myself, but somehow I survive.

This was the first half marathon we ever ran. It's called the Zion's Half and we ran it as a family group. I never thought I would run again after that day. It was a pretty hard race, uphill the whole way.

In other news, we loved all the family time we were able to enjoy this weekend, especially with our nephews. Jake especially loves being a boy and roughing around with them. Jett loves jumping on the tramp and Jake recorded a picture of him jumping.
Jett and Jake watching the home made video. I love their smiles!!!

Some other events this past month...
Delicious veggies and raspberries from our garden.
Our trip to the Church Cannery. We were in-charge of canning the last bit of corn crop from the season.

Jake being the best husband EVER folding piles of laundry. I hate laundry and Jake is always such a trooper and willing to help in any way he can. I love him so much!!!

We SPLURGED with one last anniversary date night in SLC with Ruth's Steak House. Jake loves their steak of course and I really enjoy their fish. It was a great night.

I love September! So much to celebrate... Marrying Jake is the best decision I have ever made!!!

We love you all!  - J & L
