Our IVF experience

One of the greatest blessings about our IVF experience is that I didn't have to go to work at all during it. I was able to stay home and take care of myself the first week and than the second week we were in San Fransico going to various doctor appointments and each going though different medical procedures. We don't know the results of our endeavors yet, but we have felt so much support and love from those around us. We know that with faith, hope and charity, anything is possible!

Everything I experienced during IVF, seemed pretty textbook:

I got bloated and looked pregnant. In fact someone at church actually asked if I was "expecting". I just thought it was funny and even fun in someways. Knowing I might not get to experience being pregnant, I'm happy I got to feel a little taste of what it might at least be like.  The only strange thing that happened is that I got a rash from two types of the medications I took. They were both injections and made the shot giving process even more uncomfortable, but I survived.

BIG Belly and too big to zip up my pants.

RASH?...

REALLY?
Jake before his procedure… He is the bravest man I know!
We visited the Oakland Temple while we were there, and it was beautiful!!! I had never been so I loved it. Jake was able to show me around because he had been there on his mission.

After the whole process was said and done, Jake and I decided to treat ourselves to dinner and a movie. Wait, what about dinner AND a movie at the same time? Sounds pretty great right?!!! We went to this cool place near Berkley called The Rialto Cinema in El Cerrito CA. It was really neat, you can order food and eat it in these nice relaxing couches while you watch your movie. We went to see Malificent and very much enjoyed ourselves.

Jake's favorite part about having everything over and done with was that he was able to finally drink some Diet Dr. Pepper. He is not a huge soda drinker, but loves the occasional DDP, so not being able to drink any for almost a whole year has been rough. He's a trooper though!

One Happy Man!

Bring it on SUMMER!

SCHOOL:

Today is my last day of work at the U of U. I have decided to move on with my career and go into teaching. Next year I will be teaching at Legacy Preparatory Academy in Woodscross, UT. Not only will I get to be the dance teacher, but I will be teaching Spanish as well. I will teach 7th, 8th and 9th graders and couldn't be more happy about it. I feel really great about the decision, and about this new opportunity. I know my husband and I are being watched over and protected daily by our Father in Heaven and I know he has been a huge help in making my dreams of teaching come true.

This fall I will be starting the Master's of Education program at USU. I told my husband that I think I was drawn to USU so much because their colors are Blue and White, which makes me feel right at home :) YAY!!! For school!

HIKING:

We have been able to go on some awesome hikes these last few weeks.

This was a very windy hike!

Mt. Timpanogos was incredible. If you go, you MUST do the cave. It's an hour tour though a mind blowing, breath taking cave right here in Utah.

AMELIA:

I am totally obsessed with my friend Tricia's baby! She is the sweetest, most precious baby I have ever met. Jake and I have loved the time we have been able to spend with her and her mommy!

DREAMATHON:

Date night was so much fun this past week! We went to an art gallery that has been built in an old abandoned school. The focus is to help children realize and go after their dreams. We went with Jared and Sharry, Jake's brother and sister in-law. We had a BLAST! The artists have created such a cool environment and so many interactive pieces of art.
