Our first visitors

Today my Mom and little sister flew all the way from Utah to spend a few weeks with us here in Dublin. We are so excited to have them! They are the first of a long string of visitors we are expecting to have this Summer.

Mary-Kate loves facetiming with my mom and sister during the week, so I expected her to be head over the heals, excited to see them. Unfortunately she screamed anytime they tried to hold her or be close to her. She is going through a real "stranger danger" phase right now. Hopefully though she will get more and more use to them being around. My mom is so sweet to her. She brought her a present for every day she will be here. Of the five love languages, my mom's way of showing love is giving gifts ;). Traveling isn't easy for my Mom. She will actually be having a hip replacement next month, so we are really thankful she was determined to push through and make the trip.

Here my Mom is reuniting with Mary-Kate after 6+ months, and my energetic sister in the background.
We've heard time and time again that the way to beat the time adjustment is to stay awake when you get here (most flights are red eyes). Jake and I did not follow that advice and the consequence was that it took us weeks to adjust. I didn't want that for my family so we keep them up ALL day long. It was a beautiful day here in Dublin so we ate lunch at one of my favorite places in Ranelagh then headed to the City Center. We spent the afternoon wandering though St. Stephen's Green and walking Grafton Street. Here is my sister helping me "mind" Mary-Kate. She has high hopes that Jake and I will hire here as a nanny so she can move to Ireland permanently. Haha too bad that's not going to happen but she can try to impress me all she wants.

Mom and Heather, WELCOME TO IRELAND!!!
