I don't know if many of you know this, but I have an extreme fear of bridges. I get scared crossing most kinds of apparatuses that help you cross over water or land. Whether I am in a car or walking on foot, I still get freaked out. Needless to say this causes problems anytime we go to San Francisco. I get really nervous driving in and out of the city. So Jake is kind enough to take the wheel while I close my eyes and focus on breathing. I get quite a lot of teasing for this fear of mine.
We went to San Francisco this past weekend to meet with my Doctor and talk about the next steps we will be taking on the IVF path. We drove down Saturday, hung out Sunday and then turned right back around Monday morning. It was a very quick trip. One of the things we are so grateful for though and that makes these trips bearable are our good friends The Lundquists. The have taken us under their wing, showed us how to get around, sheltered us (literally) and feed us when we've been hungry. They are Saints!
Our first stop was to see the Painted Ladies. I am a huge Full House fan and so is my sister in-law Jen. I was so excited to text her a picture of them just as soon as we pulled up. It's such a picturesque view of the city from here. By the way, the first thing Jen asked after seeing this picture was whether or not we were with Danny Tanner, Michelle and Stephanie. It make my already amazing day!
Next we were off to the beach for some relaxation and fun in the sand.
One of my favorite places was a look out on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge. It is also know as make-out point, for those wanting to get some action. Look how amazing the view is:
While we were up here the wind picked up and got a little more Chilly, but other then that it was a beautiful day. We got Ike's Sandwiches and took them up here to eat. I got a sandwich with vegan meat, and it was AMAZING! Really it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. It was called the Handsome Owl. I'm so glad we now know about this place.
We traveled through some old barracks from WWII to see this next view.
It was on the other side of the "make-out point" hill.
The sun was gorgeous as we watched it hit the water and light up the greenery around us.
Christyn and Stephen did a great job of getting us excited to spend some more time here during the next few months. This same day they also took us to the Precidio, Golden Gate Park, the Legion of Honor, the Sutro Baths and all over UC Berkeley. I really can't even express how grateful I am for such wonderful, incredible friends.
On Monday we meet with Dr. Herbert at The Pacific Fertility Center and both Jake and I were very impressed with him and his expertise. I was a little nervous for this appointment because earlier we had a phone consultation with Dr. Herbert and it didn't go very well. Things went a lot better in person though. He seems like a wonderful Dr. who will take great care of both Jake and I. In many ways everything has fallen into place and we know it's been an answer to prayer. We felt an overwhelming peace as we left the PFC office on Monday. We know that everything will work out and be ok.
On our drive home had the opportunity to check out the Beautiful Lake Tahoe. It was only 13 miles off the freeway. Can you imagine that we live so close to such a glorious place.?I told Jake we really need to go back and spend more time here. Maybe even a week or two?
Over all it was an incredible weekend and a well needed vacation.
We are so thankful for the blessings we have seen and continue to see in our lives.
We know we are being watched over by a kind and loving God.
We love you all!
